Somewhat Shorter David Brooks
From the New York Times:
I wonder if my editors would publish a column in which I claimed that allowing wives to control their own money is bad.
Probably not.
But what if I repackaged this monstrously outdated concept as something more neutral? Like, um, a column on how separate checking accounts are a threat to marriage? And maybe throw in a fancy literary reference to make it classy?
Wow! They did!
Do I have the best job or what!
